The Employers Forum
The Idea Behind The Employers Forum
An Employers Forum is made up of representatives from local companies, who work with the local community on a wide range of projects. There are already three Employers Fora. They cover the areas of:
• Sharrow, Heeley & Norfolk Park
• Owlerton, Southey Green and Hillsborough
• Darnall, Tinsley & Handsworth
• Firth Park & Brightside
• Dinnington, Rotherham
• Armthorpe, Doncaster
Members range from small independent businesses to local branches of supermarkets and public sector organisations and include the Yorkshire Bank, Wake Smith Solicitors, Fast Signs, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Cadbury, Hallam FM, Shef Care, GTA, Kenwood Hall Hotel and Greshams Timber and Grant Thornton.
Projects have included attracting more local people into local jobs, using the local jobs boards, setting up a school breakfast club, writing a business plan for a community group, helping with the development of green areas and careers conferences for young people at school.
